Marathon Auto Service — Reviews, Complaints and Ratings

I was driving up Andrews Rd, in Mentor, Ohio and saw the white dodge ram sitting in the parking lot on its wheel. I never laughed so hard. What mechanic does this? If this was my truck, I’d never step foot on Marathon Auto Service parking lot. I have heard to many horror stories from the community about the guy who runs the shop. Even more saddening is that I have fixed some of repairs that shop has done for its customers. Replacing and repairing a starter that was just recently replaced. When I did the job, I found multiple bolts over tightened and others loose. Components not replaced properly. The old starter looked like a used one to begin with. Another job I repaired that was an exhaust, specifically the straight pipe to the muffler. That shop basically shoved an inch diameter larger muffler onto an inch diameter smaller straight pipe which caused an enormous exhaust leak. They tried to crimp the clamp to make it airtight. They could have ordered the right coupling/bushing connector. I also found a intentional pin hole in the cat. I told the owner please don’t go back to Marathon Auto Service even if your life depends on it. I have never seen such sloppy workmanship. Be careful who you let work on your vehicles.
